Facebook

One of the most popular businesses that started on the web is, FACEBOOK.  Facebook was first launched on February 4, 2004.  It was found by a college student, Mark Zuckerberg, and his fellow Harvard University students/roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.  In the beginning, the website was only limited to the founders, and all of Harvard’s students.  However, it expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League & Standford University.  It then expanded to various other Universities before reaching the High School students. After that, it became available to anyone who was from age 13 to older.  Today, Facebook allows anyone who claims to be 13 years old to become a registered user of the site.  In May, of 2005, Accel Partners donated around 12.7 million dollars into facebook.  Also, venture capitalist, Jim Breyer, added one million dollars of his own money to the popular site.  It was reported in May, of 2011, that 7.5 million of the users of Facebook are children that are under the age of thirteen.  Five million users are under ten years old.  This is a serious violation of the site’s terms of services.  It was ranked in January, of 2009, that Facebook was the most used social networking service by world-wide monthly active users.  However, it was also discovered that Facebook has become a national obsession in the United States. This was resulted in the vast amount of time lost and the encouraged amount of admiration shown by individuals.

Tim Berners-Lee??

Have you ever heard of a man named, Tim Berners-Lee?  Well, he is a Brittish Computer Scientist.  He's also the inventor of the World Wide Web.  It is because of him that we are able to see what's happening on the other side of this world of ours. 

Secretariat

The movie "Secretariat", I guess, was very inspirational.  It inspires people to never give up on the goals that they set for their lives, even when it gets tough.  It also helps people to see that they can do more than what others think they are capable of doing.  Who ever thought that a HOUSEWIFE would become the owner of one of the most FAMOUS,and FASTEST, horses in history.
